Matha Patti

A matha patti is traditional Indian head jewellery. It is a hair ornament with 1 central chain (tikka) and 1 or more chains that flow along the hair line, to form one jewellery piece. A matha patti is normally worn along the hair line (3rd photo) or can be worn Arabian style, off the face (1st & 2nd photos). For 2016, matha pattis continue to be worn by brides and guests - where guests are wearing matha pattis with minimal other jewellery e.g. earrings or small studs only & no necklace. Also for 2016 the full Arabian matha patti is very much in Vogue (1st photo) - this is where the matha patti has no central chain.
